ROLLOVERS AND BEHAVIORS
Animation
on websites is a mixed blessing - sometimes exciting but quite often
frustrating for your visitors because of the time taken to download.
Dreamweaver offers some basic animated, or moving, actions, which add
excitement to your website without slowing it down.
Rollovers:
A rollover describes itself well - it’s an action that happens
when you roll the mouse over a picture and it swaps to another picture
and back again. This might be a good event to show an older man in one
picture as a young boy in another picture or, as in our example, show
a picture of a Muslim Mosque swap to become a picture of a Christian
Cathedral.
To prepare a rollover, you need two pictures of the same
dimensions which will be the swap images. Our pictures, below, have
been prepared in Fireworks.
Go to Insert > Interactive Images > Rollover Image.
A Dialogue box will appear to locate your rollover images and select
alternative text.
Using our example, fill in as follows:
Image name : Worship
Original image: mosque.jpg (browse to pix folder)
Rollover image: bigben3.jpg (browse to pix folder)
Alternative text: Towering centres of spiritual worship
