YOUR WORKING WEBSITE WINDOW

Your site window is now open and showing all your folders, files and the index page in an area to the right of the window. You can open any page to work on by double clicking the page icon in this window.

From now on this site window should always be open behind the pages you are working on and it will show all our pages and pictures in their respective folders.

You can also look at your website map on the left side of the window - remember the hand-drawn plan we drew in Step 4 - as you design and build your website, this window will eventually show your finished website map. The map will enable you to check that all your links have been set up and the visitor to your weebsite can find his or her way through your website.

There are three small boxed icons to the top left (underneath the title bar) of this window. The one furthest left allows you look at your list of files only on the right of the window and this is how you will work most of the time.

The boxed icon on the right gives you gives you two options, to look at your map only or the map and files together as illustrated in the picture above..(We will refer to the centre boxed icon later when we talk about testing the website).

You have now defined your website and you are ready to move to step 10 and start work on designing your website.
