MAKE A FRIEND OF YOUR COMPUTER

You may think of a computer as a complicated piece of electronic equipment. But actually, a personal computer is much more than just the physical components you see. It is a system that includes hardware, software, information and most important you, the user... and that’s why you should make a friend of your computer.

Hardware - the body:
Computer hardware refers to the physical components of your computer - these would normally include a monitor which houses the computer screen; the system unit which connects everything together; a keyboard and mouse; external speakers and a printer.

Software - the brain:
Computer software works with the hardware to allow you to
perform various tasks - it’s the thinking part, or brain, of your computer. The most important piece of software is your computer operating system which ‘translates’ your needs to the hardware.
