BUSINESS TOURISM LIFESTYLE REBUILD GOVERNMENT HOME

Private Sector: entrepreneurs

A micro-credit financing scheme to encourage people, mostly women, to go into small-scale trading so that they can earn to improve their standard of living and eventually build up the rural economy is part of a package of encouragement and help available for the private business sector.

The government knows that small-scale business people must be helped and encouraged because the private sector will play a key role in the country's return to prosperity. There is very little interference from the government in the day-to-day running of private enterprises.

And it's these small traders who show the ingenuity to make the country work back into profit. There are examples on every street in the country ... like the business which collects empty drinks cans, melts them down and makes cooking pots, or the stalls selling handbags made from abandoned rubber tyre innards, the trader who displays ladies' nighties by hanging them all over a tree.
