 Strengthening civil society in
the Middle East
Working with the Thomson Foundation, we became heavily involved in a five -year programme to strengthen civil society in the Arab word; training NGOs in computer and internet skills.
The work covered Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Egypt where over 460 people attended 31 workshops. A back-up training manual - produced in Arabic and English - was written by Julie McCreadie.

 First web training in Cameroon
We train journalists in developing countries to produce websites so they can use the internet to tell the world their stories. In Cameroon (right), we were the first trainers to do any form of internet/web training working with the British Council there.

 Sowing the seeds of recovery
A lengthy media 'war' recovery project was undertaken by the Cardiff-based Thomson Foundation, funded by Britain’s Department for International Development and organised locally by the British Council in Freetown. McCreadie Media Services were called in to help and advise on the development of a website in an effort to attract inward investment and sow the seeds for a tourism industry.
