Views from people in the street

In a vox pop conducted in Yaounde (Cameroon) during the celebrations marking the 2001 Commonwealth Day, we sampled the opinion of a men and women. They all had varied ideas concerning the Commonwealth of Nations.

While some were familiar with the activities of the Commonwealth, others were completely unfamiliar witht it.

Most women were interested in what the Commonwealth is doing to help in developmental projects like building training centres for women and running courses in English

The men seemed to be more informed on the activities of the organisation and had views about what the Commoinwealth is doing today.
