Achievements
This first-ever group of Cameroonian journalists to experience formal web publishing training in their own country produced this 35 page website focused on Commonwealth week and the internet training. They also started work on web sites for their newspapers, radio and television stations, news agencies and some started work on private sites.

"Their work and their effort was excellent," said Thomson Foundation trainer, Julie McCreadie, "and if you're reading this, you can see the standards they reached for yourselves."

Special Achievement
During the workshop, one of the participants, Marie-Noelle Guichi (pictured right), was called away to be awarded a prize for her reporting on HIV / AIDS.

This prize was awarded to the journalist who produced the best script on HIV / AIDS during the year 2000 in Cameroon.. Marie-Noelle received the award at an official ceremony organised at the Hilton Hotel by the Cameroon’s Minister of Public Health, Laurent Esso.

The article that won the prize was entitled "An AIDS hospital in Yaounde: the hell of high-risk people." and was published in the newspaper "le Messager." The award was set up by a youth press institution (Presse Jeune) and the network of journalist against AIDS in collaboration with the National Committee against AIDS and the United Nations Program against AIDS.
