Francophone schools wins Commonwealth quiz

by Richard KWANG KOMETA

Cameroonian young people in Yaounde interested in Commonwealth affairs braved heavy rain at the start of Commonwealth week, to discuss the challenges of globalisation. The meeting was at the National School of Post and Telecommunications for Commonwealth students and young people.

Development Organisation (CSYDEVO)engaged in a qizz, musical playbacks, poetry recital, and speeches on the significance of the Commonwealth movement.

The quiz pitted students from English High School (EHS), Obili, Mevick Grammar School Etoug-Ebe, Lycee Etoug-Ebe, and Lycee de Kou-Abang against one another.

Of the institutions present, Lycee de Kou-Abang which is a Francophone School, curiously took the lead. They showed a perfect mastery of Commonwealth activities and scored 10.5 while the other schools trailed them with 8 points for Mevick, 7 points for English High School and 6 points for Lycee Etoug-Ebe.
