Franklin Bayern: I think it was a good idea for Cameroon to join the Commonwealth so that we could be exposed to democratic practices. What I find disturbing is that, from what I hear, we still send reports to the Commonwealth in French!

Adamu Musa: The Commonwealth, it seems, is instilling some hope in the youth. You'll notice that Commonwealth Clubs are sprouting everywhere. I also hear that Cameroon benefits from scholarships. The problem, however, is that it isn't clear who is responsible for these scholarships: is it the Minister Delegate in charge of the Commonwealth or is it the Minister of Higher Education?

Asong Ndifor: At the national level, I don't see how Cameroon has benefitted. Cameroon hasn't fulfilled the Harare Declaration, namely, in the areas of good governance; human rights are still violated - human rights are trampled upon; elections are flawed...Zimbabwe and Cameroon are currently being monitored by the Ministerial Action Group, a sort of political police.
