Marianna was born in Jászkisér (Hungary). She started her violin studies at the age of five with Péter Lissauer and later continued with Vilmos Szabadi at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, graduating with distinction. Marianna went on to study the baroque violin with Catherine Mackintosh and Richard Gwilt as a postgraduate student at the Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music (London). She has won prizes in various competitions such as Leo Weiner, Zathureczky Memorial and Vera Kantrovich (for the best performance of unaccompanied string music by JS Bach). In 1998 she was awarded 1st prize in the RCM's Early Music Century competition. She
regularly performs and records with leading specialist ensembles like
The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The Academy of Ancient Music,
St. James's Baroque Players, London Handel Orchestra, The Sixteen and
conductors like Christophe Coin, Ivor Bolton and Nicholas McGegan. Marianna
is also active as a researcher, working on pieces by Christoph Graupner
