Katalin Kertesz - violin

Katalin was born in Budapest and after completing her school years at the Béla Bartók Conservatory she studied in Germany with Eckhard Fischer and Annette-Barbara Vogel. Additional studies with musicians Andre Gertler, Tibor Varga and Nelly Soregi-Wunderlich also provided important musical influences for Katalin. During her time in Germany Katalin played in a number of chamber groups and orchestras, both on modern and period instruments.

Katalin now lives in London and works with many of the country's leading period instrument orchestras and chamber ensembles. These include The London Handel Orchestra, Florilegium, The New London Consort, and The Hanover Band. In addition she is currently researching the connection between traditional healing systems of Eastern cultures and the music of J S Bach.
